The Analytics Exchange, an annual conference hosted by the analytics program staff, was created to bring together high-level executives, new faces in the analytics industry, and Northwestern MSiA students to discuss advancements in the field.
As the marketing and communications lead on our small team, I was responsible for executing marketing strategies leading up to and during the event. Marketing initiatives for this conference included:
- Working with colleagues to organize event logistics and collaborate with vendors
- Creating all promotional materials using InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop
- Researching potential conference speakers and facilitating communication between the speaker and the program director
- Email marketing to corporate contacts across a variety of companies and industries to increase number of attendees
- Promoting the conference on social media prior to the event as well as posting updates to Twitter and Facebook throughout the conference
- Writing a news article that recapped highlights of the event to be posted to the analytics program and engineering school websites
